Trading Glossary
Trading glossary.
Every term, defined in plain English. Searchable, no jargon, no fluff.
- LeverageRisk
Leverage allows traders to control a larger position size than their capital alone would permit. 1:100 leverage means $1,000 controls $100,000 in the market.
- MarginRisk
Margin is the collateral required to open and maintain a leveraged position. It is expressed as a percentage of the full position value.
- PipPricing
A pip (percentage in point) is the smallest standard price movement in forex trading. For most currency pairs, 1 pip equals 0.0001.
- SpreadPricing
The spread is the difference between the bid (sell) price and the ask (buy) price. It is the primary cost of trading.
- Stop LossOrder/Exec
A stop-loss order automatically closes a trade at a specified price to limit losses. It is an essential risk management tool.
