Prime Air Flight 7598, operated by cargo carrier 21 Air, was landing shortly before 2 p.m. EDT after departing San Juan, Puerto Rico, when it ran beyond the usable portion of the airport's diagonal runway, Reuters reported.

Boeing 767 Freighter Was 32 Years Old
The aircraft was a 32-year-old Boeing 767-300 that previously operated as a passenger aircraft before being converted for cargo service. Flightradar24 data showed the plane was traveling at about 112 knots, or 129 mph, when it left the usable runway.

NTSB Investigates Deadly Amazon Plane Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board has sent a team led by Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy to investigate. Boeing and 21 Air said they would support government investigators.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Miami International temporarily halted flights following the incident, though two of its four runways had reopened by Sunday evening.
The crash follows the 2019 fatal accident involving Atlas Air Flight 3591, another Boeing 767 freighter operating for Amazon Prime Air. That aircraft crashed into Trinity Bay, Texas, killing all three people aboard.
